TAGUIG City has marked National Arts Month by organizing the Arts Festival 2024 over the weekend, meant to provide a platform for residents to share their artistry and reinforce community relations.

The festival’s theme, “Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain,” was aligned with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) policy.

Mayor Laarni Cayetano and other city officials opened the event with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Cayetano emphasized the importance of such initiatives, which would enable Taguig artists to showcase their talents regardless of age or life stage.

“This will encourage Taguigeños to share their talents and not keep them to themselves,” she said.

The participants took part in a variety of workshops, including photography, comics making, and live painting.

An Art Wall was also unveiled, allowing attendees to showcase their creativity. In the afternoon, sessions on digital and traditional art were held, including basic cartoon animation, acrylic painting, and brush script calligraphy.

The day ended with a musical performance by No Lore, featuring “music from paintings with poetry.”

The event was also attended by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, Taguig City Vice Mayor Arvin Alit, City councilors, DepEd Taguig-Pateros Asst. School Division Superintendent Dr. Arturo Tolentino, Barangay Captains and SK Kagawads, and Taguig Artists Group (TAG).

Mayor Cayetano hopes that Taguigueños would continue to participate in art-related programs to enhance their creative talents and extend their support for local artists even after National Arts Month.
