The local government of Taguig City, through its Health Office, has launched the Kick-off Ceremony of Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) Treatment.

The event, which was held Wednesday at the Taguig Lakeshore Hall in Barangay Lower Bicutan, aims to promote dental health among young members of the community.

About 150 daycare children from different parts of the city received SDF treatments to help slow down or stop tooth decay.

SDF is known for its effectiveness in preventing and treating cavities. At the event, 30 children were also recognized as Orally Fit Children for their excellent dental health.

Mayor Laarni Cayetano attended the event and highlighted the local government’s commitment to supporting the community’s oral health. She expressed her gratitude towards the dedicated dentists and dental aides who made the program possible.

“In the City of Taguig, we take pride in taking oral health seriously. This would not have been possible without the ever-passionate and dedicated dentists and dental aides who are here today,” she said.

Kristine Siaron, a resident of Barangay Pitogo, and her daughter Fineena, who received an SDF application, expressed their appreciation for the program.

“We thanked Mayor Lani for this kind of program, and for her dedication and concern for the physical and oral health of the children. We are grateful,” Mrs. Siaron said.

The organizers incorporated a puppet show and mascot into the event to make dental care enjoyable and memorable for the young attendees.
