Actress Maris Racal expressed her support for her boyfriend, musician Rico Blanco, during the reunion concert of Rivermaya last Feb. 17.
In her post on Instagram, Maris shared a photo where she donned a headband with Rico’s face along with a banner with the words “RICO MY OPPA!” during the concert. She also shared a video of her showing Rico her fangirl ensemble.
The actress also shared photos and videos from the concert where she was joined by fellow celebrities who were also fans of the band such as Kaila Estrada, Jane Oineza, Darren Espanto, and RK Bagatsing.
“What an experience! Witnessed GREAT chemistry on stage,” she wrote in her post.
Maris also expressed her delight when the band played “Sunog” during their soundcheck.
The reunion concert involved a nearly three-hour performance by Rico, Nathan Azarcon, Mark Escueta, and Bamboo Mañalac presented by Live Nation Philippines at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.
The band delighted longtime fans with hit songs such as “Monopoly,” “Kung Ayaw Mo, Huwag Mo,” “The Princess of Disguise,” “Hinahanap-hanap Kita,” “Ballroom Dancing,” “Sunny Days,” “Ulan,” “You’ll Be Safe Here,” “Himala,” and “Kisapmata.”
Perf de Castro, who was part of the band’s classic lineup along with Rico, Nathan, Mark, and Bamboo, was not able to join the reunion concert much to the disappointment of some fans.
Rivermaya debuted with its self-titled album in 1994, which garnered critical acclaim for its two singles, “Ulan” and “214.”
Following several changes among the classic lineup throughout the years, the band currently consists of members Mark on drums and vocals, Nathan on bass and vocals, and Mike Elgar on guitar and vocals.
Maris has been dating Rico since 2019.
