American singer-songwriter Beyoncé has announced the upcoming release of her newest album through a commercial during the Super Bowl LVIII.
The commercial involved Beyonce’s collaboration with Telecommunications Conglomerate Verizon before announcing the upcoming release of the new album. The announcement was followed by the release of two lead singles, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ and ‘16 Carriages.’
The album, ‘Renaissance: Act II,’ is set to be the second act of the ‘Renaissance Trilogy’, a three-part album with the first part, ‘Renaissance,’ being released on July 29, 2022.
Beyonce has notably received recognition for the initial release of ‘Renaissance’, with her seventh studio album debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. She then announced her ‘Renaissance World Tour’ on Feb. 1, 2023, which became the highest-grossing tour by a female artist before being overthrown by Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour.’
The announcement of the new album has drawn speculations from fans all over social media platforms, with rumors spreading that Beyonce may possibly be collaborating with Taylor Swift following the statement by Killah B, Beyonce’s producer, after being asked if the new album will be featuring any guest collaborations.
“Let’s just say she’s on the approach of shocking the world,” the producer said.
Beyonce’s first solo studio album was ‘Dangerously in Love’ which was released in 2003 and was followed by ‘B’Day’ in 2006. Her other albums are ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’ (2008), ‘4’ (2011), ‘Beyonce’ (2013), ‘Lemonade’ (2016), and ‘Renaissance’ (2022).
Following the success of ‘Renaissance,’ Beyonce was the first female artist to have their first seven studio albums debut at number one in the US.
Beyonce has also received multiple accolades for her music, taking home 32 Grammy Awards, 26 MTV Video Music Awards, 24 NAACP Image Awards, 35 BET Awards, and 17 Soul Train Music Awards.
‘Renaissance: Act II’ is set to be released on March 29, 2024.
