THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has padlocked an unlicensed consultancy firm operating in Makati City for alleged illegal recruitment of Filipino jobseekers purportedly to work in factories in Poland.
DMW officer-in-charge Undersecretary Bernard Olalia led the closure of BELMÜN which was actively recruiting and deploying workers without a valid DMW license.
BELMÜN, located in Salcedo Village, Makati was allegedly operating under the guise of a training center but clandestinely recruiting Filipino workers wishing to work abroad. “This is a serious offense committed by BELMÜN. We, at the DMW, will intensify our campaign against these unlicensed firms engaging in the recruitment and deployment of Filipino workers abroad,” Olalia said.
