Basic Energy Corp. said Monday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Pangasinan Electric Cooperative I (PANELCO) to conduct studies on its planned 50-megawatt solar power project in the province.
Basic Energy said the MOU, signed on Jan. 30, 2024, is for the development of the solar project and battery energy storage system.
The planned project will come in two phases, with the first phase involving 10 MW and the second phase with 40 MW.
“The MOU is a collaboration between BSC and PANELCO I to conduct distribution impact study (DIS) and distribution asset study (DAS) on the PANELCO I distribution facilities,” the company said.
It said the DIS and DAS are integral to optimize distribution networks and enhance reliability of PANELCO I’s infrastructure.
