Echoing the message of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna exhorted City Hall employees to always give their best in serving the Manileños.
“Sana po ay isapuso natin ang mga nabanggit ng ating Pangulo (I hope that we take to heart what our President mentioned),” Lacuna told the City Hall employees during the regular Monday flag ceremony and repeated the President’s call on government workers.
“Laziness and tardiness are not allowed. Nothing should be slow and obstructive in service… replace frowns with smiles. We are servants of the people, and we are not the lord,” Lacuna said in Filipino.
According to mayor, the Bagong Pilipinas program as a fresher approach to public service serves as a reminder that positive change should start with the government, both nationally and locally.
Lacuna reiterated in her regular Monday message that employees should always deliver efficient performance for the City Hall’s daily business activities.
And it can be done more effectively with a positive outlook and serving with a smile.
“We become more effective when we can quickly deliver programs, projects, and services to our fellow Manileños. When there’s a positive disposition upon waking up in the morning, the entire day is characterized by better interactions with everyone you encounter,” Lacuna added.
