The Southern Police District (SPD) has intensified its anti-criminality campaign, resulting in the arrest of at least 30 most wanted individuals, 13 drug suspects, and nine others allegedly involved in illegal gambling.
The stepped up anti-crime operation conducted also resulted in the seizure of prohibited substances worth P294,236 and six firearms.
Fourteen suspects were arrested on charges of abuse of women and children, malicious mischief, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
A total of 1,327 people were also apprehended for violating city and municipal ordinances.
These achievements, according to SPD director Brig. Gen. Mark Pespes, was a “testament to the dedication and effectiveness of the police district in ensuring the safety and security of South Metro Manila.”
Pespes said with utmost determination, the SPD has escalated efforts to combat criminality, lawlessness, and violence, and demonstrated efficient intelligence response in curbing the activities of law violators.
“We remain steadfast in our mission to ensure the safety and security of the Southern Metro. Through these accomplishments, we reaffirm our commitment to uphold the rule of law and provide a secure environment for all residents,” said Pespes, who commended his men for a job well done.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) also praised the SPD for their successful operations, which it stated, was in line with its support to the directive of the Police Force to go against illegal drugs and other criminality.
The NCRPO had ordered the five police districts in Metro Manila to fully enforce the PNP’s anti-crime campaign dubbed as SACLEO (simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operations), aimed to ensure peace and order in the community.
SACLEO is an all-out police operation simultaneously conducted in identified areas against illegal drug personalities, most wanted persons, bearers of loose firearms, illegal gamblers, and city ordinance violators.
