The Philippine E-Cigarette Industry Association (PECIA) is throwing its support to the Department of Finance’s efforts to boost tax collection and crack down on evaders, including within their ranks.

According to PECIA president Joey Dulay, the industry group is fully committed to compliance with Philippine government regulations, including the laws covering the so-called “sin” industries.

Dulay said PECIA members follow both Republic Act No. 11900 or the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act, and RA 11467, which further hiked sin tax rates yearly starting 2020 up to the present.

PECIA had been at the forefront of the push for RA 11900, the landmark law aimed at regulating the industry of making vapes and e-cigarettes less attractive to minors.
