All eyes are on the dynamic duo, reigning MVP Jeff Marapoc and Louie Ramirez, as they set their sights on clinching a back-to-back men’s crown in the upcoming NCAA Season 99 Beach Volley Championship.

The tournament is set to take place at the Subic Bay Freeport Sand Court in Subic, Zambales, from Jan. 22 to 27, 2024.

Coach Sinfronio ‘Sammy’ Acaylar and Michael Cariño are diligently preparing the team, emphasizing a mindset of playing hard and continuous improvement on the sand court.

“Our mindset is to play hard and improve more inside the sand court,” Acaylar said in an interview.

“I told them that they just play as ordinary players and not be complacent that they are a Champion Team, as of now all of the teams are preparing, not like last season 98, coming from the pandemic, all the teams really have time to practice,” he added.

The Las Piñas City-based team aims for its fourth title, with previous victories in Season 83 (2007-2008), Season 88, Season 92, and Season 98. The team’s dedication and training reflect their commitment to excellence.

Meanwhile, the Perpetual Help Lady Altas, under coach Sandy Rieta, are determined to reclaim the women’s title after falling short in the previous finals against the Letran Lady Knights.

Mary Rhose Dapol and Krisha Cordero, supported by Mika Donig, are on a mission to bring the crown back to Las Piñas City.

The Junior’s Division event also returns, featuring Janrey Solamillo and Nathna Ciriaco, along with 3rd-man Jonathan Delos Reyes, aiming to defend the championship last secured by MVP Noel Kampton and Hero Austria in Season 94.

The Perpetual Altas Beach Volley duo concluded the previous season undefeated, clinching victory in the finals against Emilio Aguinaldo College.
