PNP confirms dismissal of cop tagged in missing beauty queen

The cop linked to the disappearance of beauty queen Catherine Camilon has been dismissed from the service, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Thursday, Jan. 18.

In a press conference, Police Regional Office 4A Director Brig. Gen. Kenneth Lucas confirmed the dismissal of major Allan De Castro from service took effect last Tuesday, Jan. 16.

“I would like to announce the dismissal of Police Major Allan Abeña De Castro effective January 16, 2024, signed by me,” Lucas said in a press conference.

De Castro previously stated his illicit affair with Camilon, but remained mum on the beauty queen’s whereabouts.

De Castro, his driver, Jeffrey Magpantay, and two others are suspects in Camilon’s disappearance.

Magpantay surrendered to cops on Jan. 9 and expressed his willingness to cooperate with the legal process.

Camilon was last seen on Oct. 12 before her family reported her missing five days later.
