K-pop group Seventeen thrilled thousands of Filipino fans at the Philippine Sports Stadium during their Follow Tour concert over the weekend.
Following the success of their Be The Sun tour last year, the 13-member K-pop powerhouse was back to prove their unwavering connection with their passionate Filipino fanbase.
Their return not only marked a successful comeback but also cemented their place in history as the first musical act to hold a concert at the sports stadium located at the Ciudad de Victoria in Bocaue, Bulacan.
The sold-out concert kicked off on Saturday with an electrifying performance of “Super” from their 10th mini-album “FML” followed by their hit song “Don Quixote.”
Seventeen then treated their fans with performances of “Clap,” “Don’t Wanna Cry,” “F*ck My Life,” and “Thanks.”
The next part of the concert showcased the three subunits of the group which highlighted their musical versatility and stage presence.
With Jeonghan missing the Bulacan tour to prioritize his recovery from an ankle injury, fans became emotional as Seventeen’s vocal unit – Woozi, DK, Joshua, and Seungkwan – sang “Dust” and “Pinwheel.”
Consisting of Hoshi, Jun, The8, and Dino, the performance unit made everyone in the room excited as they danced to the songs “Highlight” and “I Don’t Understand But I Love You.”
The group’s leader, S.Coups, was not present due to health reasons, but Mingyu, Vernon, and Wonwoo of the hip-hop unit fired up the whole stage with their performances of “Back It Up” and “Fire”.
After the subunit acts, the K-pop group came back on stage to sing their songs “Left & Right”, “Beautiful”, “Kidult”, and “April Shower”. Seventeen’s “God of Music” from their latest album “Seventh Heaven” also debuted on the Philippine stage.
Seungkwan wasn’t able to return on stage to perform as he had been feeling unwell since Saturday morning.
Continuing on their musical acts, Seventeen changed their outfit as they sang “Anyone” and “Good to Me”. Fans screamed at the top of their lungs when the boy group delivered a performance of “Hot.”
The fans then were able to interact with their respective bias when the group got on their carts to stroll around the stadium while performing “Run to You,” “Together,” and “To You.”
They got back on stage to perform “HIT” and bid their farewells to the Filipino Carats.
“Did you guys enjoy today? Well, make some noise. It’s been a long time since we performed here in Manila and we’re actually happy to perform here with you in the stadium,” stated DK.
“It’s been such a long time since we last came here. We missed you so much, honestly. Every time we come here, your energy is amazing,” said Joshua.
“We always have a great time with you, guys, so we wanted to be back. And, we’re back now. We came to such [a] big stadium because of you guys. Hopefully, today is a really great memory for you, guys. We’ll be back so don’t worry. Mahal ko kayo,” he added.
The group wrapped up day one of the Follow Tour with an encore singing “Very Nice”.
