There’s no rest for the weary as Meralco resumes its EASL Home and Away campaign on Wednesday when it battles the Seoul SK Knights at the Philsports Arena.
The Bolts are in no mood for the holiday season as they continue to practice even during Christmas as they prepare for their 7 p.m. match against the visiting Korean side.
“Tuluy-tuloy kami ng Christmas,” said coach Luigi Trillo of his team which only took a rest last Saturday following its 110-96 loss to Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Meralco will be going to its faceoff with Seoul fresh from its morale-boosting 97-88 overtime thriller against Ryukyu Golden Kings in Macau last Dec. 13.
It was the first time in three outings for the Bolts, but put them in contention for the two semifinal berths up for Group B.
The Bolts and Knights are tied at 1-2, Ryukyu is at second with a 2-1 record, while Taipei New Kings are on top, unbeaten in two games.
Meralco will actually play back-to-back home games in less than a week as it hosts former NBA player Jeremy Lin and the New Kings on January 3 also at the Philsports Arena.
“We want to win and give us an opportunity to try and make that,” said Trillo.
