Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has been honored with three platinum awards at the 6th Driven to Serve Awards by the Society of Philippine Motoring Journalists (SPMJ) for their outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in road safety, environmental protection, and education.
The three platinum awards are as follows:
Teen Smart with Honda SENSING Demonstration for Students – HCPI, in collaboration with AIESEC Philippines, conducted interactive learning sessions on road safety for college students. The program included classroom instruction on safe driving behavior, coupled with a guided experiential drive of Honda SENSING-equipped models.
Recycling of Used Lead Acid Batteries and Industrial Oil (Bantay Baterya and Bantay Langis) – Since 2006, HCPI has partnered with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation and Oriental – Motolite Marketing Corporation to responsibly dispose of hazardous lead-acid batteries and used oils. The program has collected and recycled approximately 110,000 kg of used lead acid batteries and 10,000 liters of used oils, contributing to environmental conservation.
Innovation Contest for Senior High School Students in the Philippines – HCPI collaborated with the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) for an innovation competition encouraging creative problem-solving among Senior High School students. The recent competition received 89 project proposals addressing various community issues, with three schools receiving the Youth Innovation Award.
