Shore It Up (SIU), a corporate social responsibility project of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), recently partnered with the municipality of Mabini, Batangas to conserve and protect the coastal and marine environment.
Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF), pledged P1.5 million over a span of three years. These funds will cover a range of critical aspects, including training, allowances, uniforms, equipment, and logistical support, all of which are essential for the successful implementation of the MPIC Guardians program in Mabini.
SIU inaugurated the Coastal Resource Management Office (CRMO) in Mabini. The facility will serve as a focal point for community engagement and awareness. During the inauguration, volunteers of Shore It Up! installed Mooring Buoys off the coast of Mabini.
The move not only promotes responsible boating, but also reduces potential damage to fragile coral reefs and marine life caused by traditional anchoring methods. Present were Dr.Ramir Beloso; PCapt.
