AC Health said Tuesday the newly-opened Healthway Cancer Care Hospital (HCCH) in Taguig City will be fully operational by January 2024.

HCCH chief operating officer Jenara Rosanna Ong said in a news briefing the hospital, which had a soft opening on Friday, was ramping up its operations starting with its outpatient and consultation services.

All services including its operating rooms, intensive care unit and hospital rooms will be opened to the public by the first week of January, Ong said.

AC Health president Paolo Borromeo said HCCH, the first specialty hospital for cancer in the country, is aiming  to be most cost competitive privately owned cancer facility in the Philippines.

Borromeo said cancer treatments in HCCH would be 10 percent to 20 percent lower versus other hospitals.

He said HCCH is be able to provide more affordable cancer treatments to its patients, thanks to its partnerships with technology providers Siemens Healthineers, Varian and Cancer Treatment Services International, as well as lead drug manufacturers Roche, MSD and AstraZeneca.

AC Health and HCCHH earlier teamed up with IFC for a $100-million 10-year social bond, the first of its kind in the Philippines.

The 100-bed hospital has four specialized operating theaters and two advanced endoscopy rooms. It also boasts of an expanded outpatient chemotherapy unit and an integrated outpatient department with a specialized women’s center.
