Globe Telecom Inc. said Tuesday 5G adoption among Filipinos rose significantly as it expands the 5G network nationwide.

The telecom unit of the Ayala Group said it deployed 716 new 5G sites in the first nine months of the year.  This propelled its 5G outdoor coverage to 97.67 percent in the National Capital Region and 92.06 percent in key cities of Visayas and Mindanao.

The network’s rapid growth is underscored by the 5.2 million 5G devices that connected to Globe for the month of September 2023, signifying growing adoption among Filipinos.

Internationally, Globe’s 5G influence continues to grow with the expansion of partnerships to 156 carriers in 82 destinations, allowing customers to experience high-speed 5G services globally and positioning the Philippines as a notable participant in the 5G arena.

Globe’s 5G roaming coverage extends to countries such as Guatemala, South Africa, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Laos, Seychelles, India, Peru, Aland Islands, Crete, Croatia and Romania. At the same time, inbound roamers visiting the Philippines can also benefit from the company’s strengthened 5G infrastructure.
