Amidst the bustling holiday season, Hotel Lucky Chinatown (HLC) illuminated the hearts of its esteemed guests, patrons, families and friends at their annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, infusing the air with a message that transcends festive cheer: the spirit of hope.
Held on November 8, 2023 at the hotel’s Main Lobby, the celebration was made more special with the presence of students from the Philippine Institute for the Deaf (PID), HLC’s official partner. Showing his love and support for his city, Hon. Vice Mayor Yul Servo sent his representative, Mr. Archie Dema-ala, and Chairwoman Marissa Alejandro of Barangay 293 to grace the event with their presence.
The grandeur and spectacle of the evening weren’t merely about the glimmering lights or the beautifully decorated tree. The official lighting up of the “Tree of Hope” symbolizes the radiating hope and togetherness, fostering a sense of unity and warmth within the community.
“Christmas is not a season for me, it’s a feeling,” says Jeremy Russell Go, Hotel General Manager. “In a world where hope is more vital than ever, our ceremony symbolizes a collective wish for brighter days and shared joy.”
As part of their sustainability partnership with the Philippine Institute for the Deaf this Christmas, HLC provided nearly 300 kg of used bar soap from the hotel operations for PID’s “Soap for Hope” campaign, an initiative that helps reduce hotel waste by turning used soap into something useful.
Back to the event’s highlight, this year’s tree adorned with dazzling lights, red and gold ornaments, and a star atop the tree, took center stage, exuding an ethereal glow that captivated the onlookers.
Each ornament stood not only as a magnificent design but as a metaphorical representation, with the red decors reflecting warmth, comfort, and the love shared among family and friends during the festive season, and the gold blings bringing light, wealth, and the presence of God.
This resplendent occasion would not be complete without a festive treat from its host. Attendees were treated to a magnificent dinner at the Cafe dé Chinatown. HLC’s culinary heroes worked their magic, using local produce, to carry the Sampaguita flavors unique to the Megaworld brand through their Sampaguita Shortcake.
Hotel Lucky Chinatown’s Tree Lighting Ceremony wasn’t merely a display of festive grandeur; it was a symbolic gesture, a reminder that amidst the glittering lights, there shines a beacon of hope, uniting all in the spirit of the season.
