Drop of blood from a saint

Catholic devotees venerate an elaborately preserved drop of blood from Saint John Paul who in his time endeared himself to the Filipino faithful, having visited the country twice. First was in February 1981 for the beatification of the Lorenzo Ruiz, and second, in January 1995 for the celebration of World Youth Day. The blood relic was given by Stanislaw Dziwisz, the papal secretary, on Oct. 22, 2023 and was enshrined at the Christ the King Chapel of the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila.
