Some areas of concern were observed, such as security, management, and maintenance of the airport’s infrastructure.

Tamayo said he was disappointment with the sad state of the airport and ordered the facility’s staff to improve their safety measures and maintain the airport’s equipment and facilities.

“That’s not acceptable to me, that’s insulting,” the CAAP chief stressed.

The Bacolod-Silay International Airport is deemed crucial for travel to and from Negros Occidental and the Western Visayas region, contributing to tourism and economic growth.

In coordination with the Transportation Department, the CAAP is committed to allocating P80 million in funds for the airport’s development in 2024.

With the inspection, CAAP reiterates its dedication to upholding the highest standards of aviation safety and efficiency nationwide, guaranteeing a safe and enjoyable travel experience at all airports in the Philippines.
