Police arrested a 40-year-old Chinese national after he was caught in possession of a gun and prohibited drugs inside a five-star hotel in Paranaque City.
The suspect, Wan Liang, is now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), Batas Pambansa 881 (the Omnibus Election Code), and Republic Act 10591 (the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
The arrest happened last Sunday at Pearl Entry, Okada Manila, and Entertainment City in Barangay Tambo.
Upon seeing suspicious objects and substances on the X-ray scanning, on-duty physical security officer Jayson Casa quickly alerted his supervisor, who sought police assistance.
Responding policemen discovered a 45-caliber firearm, seven live rounds of ammunition, 1.7 grams of shabu, and two ecstasy tablets.
Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano said the foreigner was taken into custody and brought to Tambo Substation for documentation while appropriate complaints were filed against him.
