The city government of Navotas held a health caravan in line with the celebration of National Lung Month and Family Planning Month.
Navoteños availed free health services such as x-rays, family planning, adult lifestyle-related disorder screening, mental health assessment, brief tobacco intervention, HIV screening, and fluoride treatment.
Participants were also able to get free medicines and vitamins and register for PhilHealth Konsulta, the comprehensive outpatient benefit under the Universal Health Care Law.
“Health care has always been one of our priorities. As such, we endeavor to make health services more accessible to our citizens,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
Tiangco encouraged Navoteños to undergo regular medical checkups to reduce the risk of getting sick or to detect and treat diseases early.
“Let us make it a habit to regularly visit our healthcare facilities and take advantage of the free services they offer. Do not wait until your condition gets worse,” he added.
The city mayor also urged participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle through a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Meanwhile, PhilHealth commended Navotas City Hospital for being one ofthe Top Performing Health Care Institutions in terms of the lowest count of return-to-hospital (RTH) or denied claims for the year 2022.
Navotas also recently bagged the silver award in Treatment Coverage Rate of Tuberculosis in the Department of Health Race to End TB Annual Awards.
