The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas is open for new members with the same vision as the current administration, President Ferdinad Marcos Jr. stressed on Friday.
The President, who also chairs the PFP, reiterated that aspiring new members are welcome to join the party as long as they are committed to helping the government.
“Like I said during the elections, during the campaign, anyone can join, whatever their political colors are. If they are ready to help why won’t we welcome them?” the President said in Filipino during a media interview after attending the joint Philippine-Australian military exercises in Zambales.
“As long as they’re willing to help the government, as long as they’re willing to help us in pursuing and promoting the policies that we have created for our people, then of course they are welcome to join,” he added.
Other than their willingness to cooperate with the government, aspiring PRP members should also be willing to back the administration’s efforts in reviving the country’s economy and slowing down inflation, Mr. Marcos said.
“Right now, rice is our most critical problem and that’s something that we are attending to with all of the partners that we have both in government and in the private sector,” the Chief Executive said.
He added that new members should also be supportive of its candidates in the upcoming national election in 2025 and in 2028.
“Politics is a game of addition. And so, whoever cares to join us as part of a coalition, whoever cares to support our candidates in the upcoming elections. Well, of course, the first national election will be in ’25. Then, finally in ’28,” he emphasized.
On Thursday, President Marcos led the oath-taking ceremony for the new PFP members in Malacañang.
