A son of a former councilor has filed a complaint of graft and corruption, falsification of public documents and grave misconduct against a village chief in Quezon City before the Office of the Ombudsman.
Barangay Kaligayahan councilor Allan Butch Francisco Jr. sued village captain Alfredo Roxas; councilors Jim Mahusay; Alexander Rivera; former singer-actress Perla Adea; Arnel Gabito; Dionisio Gascon and Sofronio Grimaldo, and barangay secretary Josephine Penaranda for the approval of a barangay council resolution “interposing no objection to the application of M.M. Ledesma Laboratories Corp.” along Zabarte Road extension on April 15, the barangay assembly day.
He said there was no notice that a village councilors’ meeting would be conducted before, during or after April 15.
He said he personally attended the assembly day, during which the resolution was passed.
“The Barangay Resolution No. 087 signed by the public respondents and the barangay certification issued by the respondent secretary to one and the same resolution was falsified,” the complaint read.
The complainant, a son of former city councilor Allan Butch Francisco, denied allegations that the filing was politically motivated.
