Following the success of his D-Day concert tour, Suga of the Korean supergroup BTS announced on Monday, August 7, stating that he is commencing preparations for his upcoming military enlistment.
Big Hit Music, the septet’s music label, released an official statement on the fan community Weverse, confirming that the rapper has voluntarily terminated his enlistment postponement.
“We would like to inform fans that Suga has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement,” said Big Hit Music.
The statement also urged the devoted BTS fans, known as ARMYs, to continue supporting Suga in his decision.
“We ask you for your continued love and support for Suga until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artist,” it added.
Suga will be the third member of BTS to fulfill his mandatory military duty.
Comprising RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, BTS had previously announced a hiatus in their group activities to focus on individual careers and complete their military service.
