The Navotas City government, led by Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Rep. Tobias “Toby” Tiangco, distributed new fishing equipment, including a 30-feet NavoBangka equipped with a 16-horsepower engine and nets, to 30 registered fishermen.
It’s part of the Tiangco brothers’ NavoBangka-buhayan program, which began in 2018 to support Navotas fishermen, given the city’s recognition as the “Fishing Captial of the Philippines.”
Also present during the distribution was the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) – NCR Regional Director Noemi SB. Lanzuela to share her support in empowering local fisherfolk to boost the local fishing industry and economy.
