Netizens call out Carlos Agassi over transphobic lyrics in ‘Milk Tea’ song

After Carlos Agassi dropped his latest single titled ‘Milk Tea,’ social media users expressed intense outrage over certain lyrics perceived as transphobic.

Two weeks after the song’s release, the handsome actor faced a barrage of criticism on Twitter as some of the song’s lines seemingly conveyed disappointment upon realizing that his partner was a transwoman.

Venti ang kanyang milk tea. Sa dami ng binibini, nakabingwit ako ng binabai,” stated in the lyrics of Carlo’s song.

The song felt like it was talking about the beverage drink milk tea but as the song went on reaching its bridge part, it seemed to talk about something else.

During its release, the 43-year-old actor even took to Twitter to promote his latest single promising those who would like, tag someone, and share the video would get a chance to win cash prizes from him.

“I’m giving away ₽10,000 to a lucky person! All you have to do is like, tag someone in the comment section, and share this video on your feed,” wrote Carlos.

While some had participated and supported Carlos’ giveaway, others quickly called out the actor.

“MASS REPORT FOR TRANSPHOBIA,” one wrote.

“i remember you on Tinder and Bumble, and that all you’d do is hookup with random girls, you actually chatted some of my friends, good thing they have standards and they didn’t went through with you,” a netizen replied.

“He should’ve stayed in his cave,” added another netizen.

Breaking his silence over the issue, the model requoted some of the netizens’ tweets.

“I respect all genders, [it’s] not my fault [that’s] your interpretation of the song. Will be praying for your happiness & enlightenment,” said Carlos.

A netizen tweeted, “Yeah, this would never gain traction if it wasn’t transphobic. It’s also hilarious how the girl defends the washed-up actor from the 90s. [D]oes she realize she’s portraying the supposed tranny in the video?”

In response, the actor clarified, “She is my wife[,] @sarinayamamoto[,] she helped me compose the song [and] she directed the music video. [W]e would never do anything to harm anyone. [J]ust love and good vibes.”

Carlos even engaged with another Twitter user who questioned, “Dami mo namang time wala [ka] na bang career[?]”

Carlos seemed unfazed by the criticism and remained proud of his song’s increasing popularity, as it continued to trend.
