The City Government of Manila started its mandatory drug testing for all of its 7,859 employees from July 10 to 28, 2023.
This is pursuant to the provision of Civil Service Commission M.C. No. 13 series of 2017 regarding the Mandatory Random Drug Test for Public Officials and Employees.
“Ito po ay in compliance sa memorandum na ipinadala ng Civil Service Commission sa atin pong Lungsod at ito naman ay ipadadala natin sa Dangerous Drugs Board sa DILG para mapatunayan natin sa kanila na ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Maynila ay mayroong drug-free workplace,” Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said during the regular flag raising ceremony at Kartilya ng Katipunan.
“Drug testing among public officials and employees are made to promote safety and drug-free environment,” City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan said in the memorandum.
