Kell Brook, the former welterweight world champion who experienced defeat at the hands of both Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford, has now made his prediction for the long-awaited and recently announced clash between the two fighters.
Brook’s encounters with Spence Jr. and Crawford resulted in two of his three career losses, with Spence Jr. stopping him in the 11th round due to a serious eye injury, and Crawford finishing him off in the 4th round.

In interviews with Boxing Social and Fight Hype, Brook revealed that he gives the edge to Crawford, despite acknowledging Spence Jr.’s power as a puncher. Brook explained, “I think that Spence has probably got the stronger dig, stronger puncher in there. But Crawford is very surprising, he catches you by surprise and they’re the shots that can knock you out. He’s got some pop as well.”
Having shared the ring with both fighters, Brook emphasized the difficulty in predicting the outcome of the fight due to the contrasting styles.
However, he ultimately leaned towards Crawford as the victor, citing his versatility, precision, and ability to switch-hit. Brook also highlighted Crawford’s recent activity compared to Spence Jr., who has faced challenges following a car crash.
“I think, after seeing their fight, [Shawn] Porter and Crawford, you’ve gotta lean towards Crawford now,” he said in an interview with Fight Hype. “But styles make fights, Spence is a natural southpaw. So it’ll be very interesting, everyone will still tune in, but I think the way he dealt with Porter, I think you have to start leaning towards Crawford,” he added.
Brook believes that these factors give Crawford a slight advantage in the matchup.
