An artist of the Caprichoso Cultural Association performs during the annual folklore festival known as Boi Bumba at Bumbodromo, in Parintins, an island on the Amazon river about 370km east of Manaus, northern Brazil. Boi Bumba is considered the biggest outdoor opera which runs for three nights on the last weekend of June. The themes, costumes, and songs are based on the native cultures along the Amazon River. AFP
