Following the success of her debut album, SOUR, Fil-Am singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo returns to the music scene with a new single, “Vampire,” coming this June 30.
“[My] new song vampire is out June 30th! you can pre-save now. So excited for this ahhhhh!!!!!!!” the artist said in an Instagram post.
While Olivia tackled sorrow and her childhood in her debut album, her new single has a darker aesthetic, possibly hinting at a new journey for the singer-songwriter’s music.
“Vampire” is Olivia’s first release since SOUR, which turned two this year. She has been dropping Easter eggs about her new music since January, especially with the Spotify background of her hit song, “driver’s license,” changing into a picture of her driver’s license showing an expiration date: June 30, 2023.
Olivia has yet to announce the name of her sophomore album but continues to enjoy the process of writing music while keeping from putting too much pressure on herself.
The Fil-Am singer-songwriter received nominations for seven awards during the 2022 Grammys. She won Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album for SOUR, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “drivers license.”
