NLEX puts up more weighbridge stations for trucks

NLEX Corp. said Monday it set up more weighbridge stations for truckers entering the North Luzon Expressway, Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway and NLEX Connector to promote motorist safety and prevent early deterioration of road caused by overloading.

The tollway company said it is strictly enforcing the anti-overloading provisions of Republic Act No. 8794 or “An Act Imposing a Motor Vehicle Users Charge on Owners of all Types of Motor Vehicle and for Other Purposes”.

It is also implementing the 33-ton weight limit on the Candaba Viaduct southbound, as affirmed by the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Transportation.

The new weighbridge stations are located in SCTEX Porac, Pampanga and Concepcion, Tarlac. Privately-owned ACB Truck Scale Services weighbridge in Dinalupihan, Bataan was also opened to all trucks from Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Truckers need to pay P400 to P600 fee, which will go directly to ACB, depending on the truck types.

NLEX is also eyeing to open more stations in the coming months to further promote safety and convenience. These locations will be on SCTEX Floridablanca and Dinalupihan, and NLEX Marilao, Mindanao and Karuhatan.

There are 12 existing locations along the entire stretch of NLEX and four satellite locations in partnership with private firms.
