Kabang, a mix shepherd-askal (asong kalye) breed of Zamboanga City, is honored with a dog park named after her at the 5th floor of the posh Hilton Manila in New Port, Pasay City. Kabang, who died in her sleep on May 17, 2021 at 13 years old, the equivalent of 91 years for humans, gained international recognition as a hero for saving two children from a potentially fatal motorcycle crash, but lost her snout in the process, and taken to the United States for surgery.
