“We want to streamline our business process to make sure that SBMA will be the friendliest amongst investment promotion agencies,” he said, adding that in the first town hall meeting on May 10, he made sure to address the concerns of all locators in the Freeport.

Tan, addressing almost 1,000 stakeholders who attended the town hall meeting, said collaboration, communication and consultation will be the hallmark of his stint at SBMA.

“As much as possible we involve our stakeholders in our policy decision. We want to create a progressive and sustainable business community. We want to regain the trust and confidence of our present locators. We want future locators to see what we can offer them. We want a better work environment for us all,” he said.

Tan also expressed confidence in the people of SBMA and shared simple rules of engagement to establish good work relationships.
