Four-time NBA champions Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will face reigning Super Bowl champions Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in the next edition of “The Match” golf pairs showdown.
The first NFL versus NBA edition of the 12-hole, made-for-television event will be staged June 29 at Wynn Las Vegas, Warner Brothers Discovery Sports announced Wednesday.
Kansas City quarterback Mahomes, a two-time NFL Most Valuable Player, led the Chiefs to a second NFL crown in three years in February with tight end Kelce a favorite target.
Two-time NBA MVP Curry, along with backcourt teammate Thompson, has sparked Golden State to four of the past eight NBA titles.
It marks the second appearance in the event for Curry and Mahomes, each having lost in their debut.
Curry, whose Warriors are in the second round of the NBA playoffs against the Los Angeles Lakers, paired with former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning in a 2020 loss to multiple major winner Phil Mickelson and retired NBA star Charles Barkley.
Mahomes and Buffalo’s Josh Allen lost last year to rival NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
