Four siblings were found dead inside their home in Trece Martires, Cavite on Thursday after the live-in partner of their mother allegedly lost his cool and stabbed them all before ending his own life.
The police identified the victims as Mari, 14 years old; Bianca, 10: Joy, 8; and Conrad 6.
The children were living together with the suspect identified as Felimon Escalona, 38, a tricycle driver who was the kids’ guardian while their mother works as an overseas Filipino Worker in Saudi Arabia.
Based on the initial report gathered from Lt. Col. Jonathan Aznan, Trece Martires City police chief, at 12:35 p.m., police received a call from barangay officials regarding a commotion inside a house in Barangay Cabuco.
The gate was locked when the police arrived, which prompted the cops to use a bolt cutter.
When the cops entered the house, they discovered the lifeless bodies of the children inside a room, together with the bloodied and weakened suspect.
Authorities tried to bring the suspect to the nearest hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his wounds while receiving aid.
Before dying, Escalona apparently wrote with a bloody hand on the walls “Pasensya na, mahal kita Vi (Forgive me, I love you Vi),” referring to the children’s mother.
The police said that the neighbors heard shouting and crying from the victims’ house before noon and asked their barangay officials to check on the commotion.
