The Caloocan City Government, led by Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, conducted reach-out operations in various Barangays in North Caloocan to help street dwellers, especially children at risk, on Friday, January 13.
The City Social Welfare Development Department (CSWDD) assisted a total of 34 individuals from Barangay 170, 174, 175, 177, 178 and 188.
According to CSWDD Officer-in-charge Roberto Quizon, the department conducts reach-out operations aligned with Mayor Along’s directive to help the vulnerable sectors, including the homeless and troubled youth.
The said individuals were given medical assistance, antigen testing, hot meals and counseling. Minor girls were directed to the city’s Social Development Center while minor boys were sent to Tahanang Mapagpala and Bahay Pag-Asa.
Mayor Along commended CSWDD in its efforts to help clear the streets and rescue lives of individuals from harm and illegal drugs.
