Unilever Philippines is boosting its presence in the healthcare space following the completion of a P4.7-billion investment to capacitate automation and increase the production capacity of its personal care facility in General Trias, Cavite.

Trade Undersecretary and Board of Investments managing head Ceferino Rodolfo said in a briefing the plant would start to operate in the first quarter of 2023, based on the presentation by Unilever Philippines chairman Benjie Yap in one of the forums at the ongoing 10th ASEAN-European Union Business Summit In Brussels, Belgium.

“We expressed to President Marcos our long-term commitment to sustainable and responsible growth in the country, and we are optimistic that our new P4.7-billion investment in a future-fit personal care factory in Cavite will contribute to the Philippine manufacturing sector’s competitiveness as we employ highly advanced technologies, with the potential to qualify the facility for the World Economic Forum’s ‘Advanced Fourth Industrial Revolution Lighthouse,” Yap said.
