Fact-check

Members of the Kilusang Mayo Uno and the Kilos Ng Manggagawa cross-check at a Quezon City store if the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) claim that grocery food items amounting to P488 are enough to feed a family of five in one day, meaning that the workers’ minimum wage of P575 a day can feed a modest-size family. The group said they paid P570 for the items listed in the DTI list, indicating that the existing minimum wage level is insufficient.
