A new import will play for the San Miguel Beermen in the ongoing 2022 Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup this Friday.
Columbus, Ohio native Devon Scott, who will replace Diamond Stone, will suit up for the Beermen when they play the Converge FiberXers.
The 28-year-old Scott, who arrived Tuesday night, averaged 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds when he played for Fuerza Regia in Mexico.
Stone averaged 24.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in the three games he played for the Beermen, who however still felt his production wasn’t enough.
The Beermen, who started their campaign with a 1-2 win-loss record, are undermanned, with their top player in June Mar Fajardo out of commission for a month after having throat surgery.
They will be counting on Scott to play a key role for the team in their bid to turn things around.
The 6’9” Scott was an undrafted player in the 2016 NBA Draft but has been playing around the world for Super City (NZ-NBL), Hispano Americano De Rio (Liga A), Minas (NBB), Hapoel Eilat (I-BSL) and Incheon Electroland Elephants (KBL).
