Gilas cager Dwight Ramos’ timely plays helped lift the Levanga Hokkaido to a sweep of their two weekend games with the Toyama Grouses, 88-85, last Sunday in the 2022-23 Japan B.League season at Hokkai Kitayell.
Ramos, who shot only six points, scored on a crucial jumper with 3:14 left, handing Hokkaido an 83-78 cushion.
His efforts lifted Hokkaido to its second straight win, improving their win-loss record to 2-4 in the East District.
Brock Motum topscored for Levanga with 25 points, seven boards, five assists, and three steals.
Earlier, Ramos made nine points when Hokkaido trounced the Grouses, 107-77, last Saturday.
Meanwhile, two ex-Philippine Basketball Association players Matthew Wright and Jay Washington stood out in their games with Kyoto Hannaryz and the Rykyu Golden Kings, respectively.
Wright knocked in eight points, four assists, and two rebounds for Kyoto Hannaryz, which won over SeaHorses Mikawa, 76-63, as they arrested a three-game skid and took a 2-4 card at Sky Hall Toyota.
