3 reasons why Stamp vs Meksen will be explosive

Stamp Fairtex and Anissa Meksen might’ve competed against different opponents last Saturday, October 1, at ONE Fight Night 2: Xiong vs. Lee III, but the two athletes will soon face each other.

They are slated for a mixed rules super-fight at ONE Fight Night 6 on Saturday, January 14, where the rounds will alternate between MMA and Muay Thai rules.

Before the atomweights meet in this hybrid fight, we break down why it will be sure to shock viewers worldwide.

They Are Both Superb Strikers

Stamp has demonstrated time and time again that she is an incredible striker. The former two-sport ONE World Champion carried both the Muay Thai and kickboxing belts and has defeated the likes of Janet Todd and Chuang Kai Ting.

Meksen, the former GLORY Kickboxing Super Bantamweight World Champion, has also showcased her heavy hands. “C18” has taken down a list of famous names herself, including Dangkongfah Banchamek and Marie Ruumet.

Meksen’s Long-Awaited MMA Debut

The Fairtex fighter could have the upper hand with her grappling background. Stamp is a brand new purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has earned two of her nine MMA wins by submission.

However, Meksen has shown that she is a hardy fighter who is unafraid of a challenge. Despite her 24-year-old opponent’s ground game, there is a chance that the French-Algerian could pull off an upset.

Stamp Must Be Savvy To Meksen’s Stand-Up

While the Thai star has extensive striking accomplishments dating back to her childhood, she must be wary of Meksen’s power. The 34-year-old has the strength to stop her opponents and has a considerable background in boxing, savate, kickboxing, and Muay Thai, which has helped her accumulate a staggering record of 103-5.

While Stamp must be cautious, she is still a threat to Meksen’s undefeated record within the Circle. She has earned five finishes out of her 9-2 MMA record and has a combined Muay Thai and kickboxing record of 63-17-5.
