Nostalgia Hits SlamDunk fans with a new movie

Weebs and Otakus who grew up in the 1980s to 1990s will have the best Christmas season ever with the return of the popular sports anime Slam dunk after a 27-year-silence as it premieres a new modernized movie that is to be released on December 3.
Third generation anime fans are individuals who grew up in the 1980s to 1990s have very fond memories of the popular sports anime Slam Dunk where the story follows Sakuragi Hanamichi, a young delinquent who enters a new highschool where he meets a girl named Haruko Akagi with whom he immediately developed feelings for, so he entered the basketball team which was led by Haruko’s brother whose an ambitious man and wants his team play in the inter-high tournament. Sakuragi teamed up with him and learned to bond with his teammates as they fought their way towards the finals, whilst learning and becoming close with each other in team unity.
Jed Kendrick is a longtime fan of the series since he first watched it from his highschool days and like many fans, he expressed joy at his favorite series’s epic return and reflected on its future.
“ There are still a lot of stories to be told, Lots of questions left unanswered. People came up with their own fan fiction based on it. How would they progress professionally? Will they even be good players in the Pros? We all need that happily ever after story and I think there is still a lot of work to do regarding that,” said Kendrick.
Fans will be seeing their favorite players from Shutoku high in the highest of definition and animation as the Toei animation and Dandelion Animation Studio will be handling the rendering of characters, both studios are known for popular series such as Dragon ball, Toriko and Transformers.
Mangakka and creator Takehiko Inoue will take the reins as the director and writer of the movie.
Nostalgia immediately consumed the Slam Dunk fanbase as comments of support and even crushes from fans were stated across all social media platforms as seen with the masses of heart emojis and gifs below the newly released teasers featuring high definition portraits of the main characters such as titular protagonist Sakuragi Hanamichi.
Filipino Streaming sites and theaters would no doubt be packed this coming December to see their favorite fictional basketball team’s story continue in the modern age.
