Because of my hectic daily schedule, even now that I’m supposed to be retired, I look out for rare opportunities for me to de-stress. That’s why I enjoy trips to Baguio, Tagaytay, a secluded beach, or anywhere I could have peace and quiet, so I could just “commune with nature” and detach myself from the noise and chaos of our day-to-day existence.
This is why when Meegee Yap, Director of Sales and Marketing of Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA, told me about their new Mandara Spa, I decided to try it out right away. The skillful kneading of my tired muscles is another way for me to be refreshed and feel rejuvenated, ready to face the new challenges of the day.
The recent partnering of Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA with The Mandara Spa has added another dimension to the service and facilities the hotel offers its guests and patrons. These new quality spa services complement the hotel’s upbeat branding and provide a unique and feel-good experience to every guest.
Just by going inside the spa makes anyone feel refreshed and relaxed right way, with the appealing aroma of a mixture of several essential oils. A whiff of lavender, citrus, rosemary, bergamot, lemon, or eucalyptus is enough for me to start feeling a sense of well-being. I enjoy these scents as I know it leads to something that will cater to both my physical and emotional health.
At the spa’s reception lounge, I was offered my choice of herbal tea. The beverage and the relaxing aroma of the essential oils hovering over me were enough to make me ready for a head-to-toe treatment and, at the best value-for-money at that! Since I wanted to try out everything the new Spa offers, I decided to be pampered with the “Ultimate Mandara Experience” which comes with a signature scrub, wrap, massage, foot spa, and facial.
The treatment room I was in had very comfortable massage beds and its own bathroom. The spa management also provides you with your own robe, in case you feel more comfortable using it during the massage instead of draping a towel around you. The mood lighting and the mellow music in the room make it very conducive to relaxation. And I hasten to add, the therapist attending to me had magic hands. She knew exactly where my tense muscles were! I didn’t have to tell her anything, especially because I was dozing off to a very restful sleep.
Relaxing while all these treatments were done to me was the ultimate form of tranquility. I was in seventh heaven. I have to admit that I felt like a new person after this full treatment! My face looked so fresh, my whole body felt so energized and, most of all, my mind was cleared of the “cobwebs” of doubt and worry that our daily life always inflicts upon us. I was ready, once again, to come face-to-face with the mundane challenges of our existence!
It is always good to take time to focus on your wellness and honor your self-care. In my case, I indulged myself with the total Spa treatment at Mandara Spa which made me discover the easiest and fastest way to de-stress, detoxify and “chill out.” Then I treated myself to a hearty meal at the hotel’s Casa Urban Table right after the “heavenly session.”
