7 p.m. – Timor Leste vs. Myanmar

Regional power Myanmar faces Timor Leste today in one of two matches highlighting the start of Group B action in the 12th Asean Football Federation Women’s Championship at the Binan Stadium in Laguna.

The Burmese, who were bronze medalists in the 2019 edition of the tournament in Chonburi, Thailand, and in the last 31st Vietnam Southeast Asian Games two months ago, face the Timorese at 7 p.m.

Next-door neighbors Laos and Cambodia play in the other match at 4 p.m. in the premier women’s Southeast Asian soccer competition organized and hosted for the first time by the Philippine Football Federation and supported by the Philippine Sports Commission.

Defending champion Vietnam won’t play until Thursday as it kicks off its title-retention drive against Cambodia also at the Binan Stadium, which also hosted most of the women’s matches of the 30th SEA Games three years ago.

Meanwhile, tickets to the remaining group matches of the 12th AFF Women Championship are still on sale at all SM tickets and online at SMTickets.com.

Prices are pegged at the P400 and P300, respectively, for Grandstand Category 1 and 2 and P150 for bleachers at the Rizal Stadium, and P300 for both the Grandstands of the Binan Stadium and Imus Stadium in Cavite.

All three venues will have limited seating capacity in line with the health and safety guidelines of the event, with ticket-holders required to show proof of full vaccination before they are permitted to enter the arenas.

Advisory: Results/stories of Group A matches between Singapore vs. Malaysia at 4 p.m. and Philippines vs. Australia U-23 at 7 p.m. will be sent separately and then consolidated (following the second match) later as soon as their games are over.
