After dominating the local elections, 1Muntinlupa party members led by Mayor Ruffy Biazon were sworn into office on Thursday afternoon.
Biazon took his oath of office before Muntinlupa City Executive Judge Myra Quiambao together with local officials at Filinvest Tent, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
“Together, in this transition, we are putting into place political reforms that we hope future public servants will also advocate and pursue. Through this initiative, we aim to leave behind the outdated, obsolete, and overdue brand and style of politics and replace it with one that exemplifies professionalism, principles, and proactivity,” Biazon said.
Biazon’s party dominated the local elections, filling all the slots in the Muntinlupa City Council, as well as executive and legislative departments.
Joining Biazon in the inauguration ceremony were Rep. Jaime Fresnedi; Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac; District 1 councilors Rachel Arciaga, Ivee Arciaga-Tadefa, Paty Katy Boncayao, Allan Aman Camilon, Raul Corro, Alexson Diaz, Valentino Niefes, and Jedi Presnedi; and District 2 councilors Lester Baes, Ryan Bagatsing, Luvi Constantino, Arlene Hilapo, Eliot Martinez, Dado Moldez, Marissa Rongavilla, and Jun Metong Sevilla.
Biazon committed to usher in political reforms and a “new brand of politics.”
1Muntinlupa under the Biazon administration is pushing for the 7K Agenda (Katarungan, Karunungan, Kalusugan, Kaunlaran, Kapayapaan/Kaayusan, Kabuhayan, Kalikasan) on pandemic response and recovery.
Prior to his mayoralty bid, Biazon served as the city’s lone representative in Congress.
