Officials of the provincial government of Negros Oriental and its people have expressed their full support to the leadership of Governor-elect Pryde Henry Teves despite the looming “power struggle” launched by a losing gubernatorial candidate.
The province’s lawmakers, mayors, vice mayors, and other local government officials stressed that they are backing Teves as he took his oath in front of his supporters on 30 June.

“We should forget politics and strive to move forward together. We congratulate Governor Teves and we are sure that he will help the province of Negros Oriental to move towards progress,” said Negros Oriental 1st District Rep. Josy Limkaichong.
Teves, on the other hand, vowed to do his duties as governor to the best of his abilities and assured the Negrosanons of better and improved public service.
“I will not fail you,” said Teves.
Also present during the governor’s oath-taking are Bayawan Mayor Jack Raymond, Bayawan Vice Mayor Henry Carreon, Sta. Catalin Mayor Peve Ligan, Manjuyod Mayor Andaya Raffy, Bacong Mayor Lenin Alviola, Deputy Speaker and Third District Representative Arnie Teves, Sibulan Mayor Mercy Goñi, Tanjay Vice Mayor Neil Salma, Amlan Vice Mayor Alan Tan, Amlan Mayor Manjoe Sycip, Bais Mayor Luigi Goñi, Sibulan Vice Mayor Dirky Fontello, Ayungon Vice Mayor Nilda Fabillaran, Jimalalud Mayor Hazel Tuanda and Canlaon Mayor Bachok Cardenas.
