Perhaps, Energy Undersecretary Benito Ranque can never be any happier with two incredible birthday wishes he made six years apart that fate had granted—two candidates of his choice became President of the Philippines.
Ranque, who was born on May 9, 1959, said during his last birthday, he wished that former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos would win in his presidential bid, along with running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
Early results of the just-concluded elections indicated that the Marcos-Duterte UniTeam was headed to a landslide victory.
Ranque was lead convenor of the Marcos-Sara Duterte Alliance (MASADA) which helped vigorously push the tandem’s candidacies.
“My birthday wish in May 9, 2016 was then Mayor Rodrigo Duterte will
become the President of the Philippines and my wish was granted it become a reality” Ranque said during an interview with Megatv in Tuguegarao City where he wound up his crusade for BBM Sara victory.
“On May 9, election day I celebrated my birthday and I asked God to grant my second wish … the victory of Bongbong and Sara,” he said.
Without doubt, his wish was again granted as BBM and SARA won an overwhelming victory on Monday’s election.
“We elected a unifying President, time to heal, one flag, one nation, one race. Masada ideology is unity in diversity,” Ranque said in a statement. Called as the father and founder of Masada Ranque began a two year crusade to campaign for the continuity of the gains of the administration of President Duterte and initiated the Run Sara Run movement.
The crusade was initially called Mayor Sara Duterte Alliance (Masada) and later on became the Marcos Sara Duterte alliance
The two year crusade from Mindanao to Luzon has cemented the solid north and solid south alliance that delivered some 40 million votes for the Marcos and Duterte tandem.
Ranque also thanked MASADA volunteers who were inspired by spirit of volunteerism and poured their time and resources for BBM SARA victory.
“Lahat mga MASADA convenors, coordinators, supporters & volunteers. Salamat sa inyong sakripisyo. We showed unity & love of country. Shalom!” he said.
