MILLIONS of frontliners all over the Philippines, like doctors, nurses, police, soldiers, barangay workers and food delivery boys, among others, need one solid representation in Congress for the May 9 elections.
Jayke Joson, a former actor-producer who have been in the film industry for so many years, knows how valuable a single frontliner is, when his father was saved by an ambulance driver while suffering a COVID-19 infection.
“I will never forget the day when my dad was very sick. There was that driver who took care of my dad inside the ambulance while the medical staff were all busy looking for a room,” Joson, the Frontliners Ang Bida Partylist #111 first nominee, said during a live interview on CNN Philippines recently.
“We are very thankful to God our father was saved and is alive. We formed this party-list not for anything else but to become the voice of all the frontliners in Congress to help and support them the best way we can,” Joson added.
Security guards, health workers, national athletes, firemen and the media are also covered by the Frontliners Ang Bida Partylist #111 because they are considered frontliners who also served the people during the pandemic.
“They are very active even during the time of calamity, they never rest and are very dedicated to do their jobs,” he said.
If the Frontliners Ang Bida #111 is elected as one of the 63 party-list members of the House of Representatives, Joson will file a bill for double hazard pay, tax-free allowances, free insurance policies for all frontliners, and the abolition of the no-pay, no-work policy for sick frontliners.
“We have to find ways for our frontliners, we have to fight for their welfare and protect their rights as well,” he said.
