“Is it game over for the rest?”
Santa Banana, pollsters are saying that Bongbong Marcos and his teammate Inday Sara Duterte Carpio will have a landslide victory on Election Day on May 9, 2022!
With pollsters saying that it will be a “miracle” for second placer Vice President Leni Robredo to overcome the lead of BBM-Sara in poll surveys, I can believe that with 13 days to go, no amount of attacks or dirt thrown at Bongbong by his enemies and the opposition can dent his popularity and that of Sara.
This can only mean, my gulay, that out of 64 million voters registered, Bongbong has a significant lead. Out of the 81 provincial governors, Bongbong has the support of at least 53 of them.
My gulay, Bongbong also has the support of command votes from the Iglesia ni Cristo, El Shaddai, Iglesia ni Aglipay, and from Apollo Quiboloy’s flock of 1 million, headed by the self-appointed “son of God.”
Take note of the fact that many governors of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao have committed millions of votes for Marcos. And note also the fact that in Maguindano and Sultan Kudarat and other areas of the BARMM, there are enclaves of Ilocanos. In fact, all over Mindanao, there are many Ilocanos.
All these and the fact that Inday Sara is a Cebuana. Not only the Solid North and the South are for the BBM-Sara tandem. My gulay, even many in the vote-rich central and western Visayas, including Samar and Leyte, are committed to BBM-Sara.
Santa Banana, the last survey of OCTA and PUBLICUS Asia found the BBM-Sara team again ruling the surveys with Bongbong Marcos having 57 percent of the 1,200 respondents. They are the preferred candidates of many.
Marcos has over 35 percent in the National Capital Region (NCR), 60 percent in the Visayas, and 50 percent in Mindanao. In terms of socio-economic class, Bongbong got 51 percent in the ABC segment, 39 percent in the Class D and E, and 44 percent in Class E segment or the poorest among the poor socio-economic class.
It’s no surprise that the other presidential candidates want Robredo to withdraw.
Then again, as to those tailenders in the presidential race, the call of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso and Senator Ping Lacson for Robredo to withdraw is truly a pathetic and desperate attempt. Knowing fully well that Robredo won’t withdraw despite the big difference between her and Bongbong Marcos according to all poll surveys, personally I believe that even if the other presidential candidates trailing behind Bongbong were to add up all their voting percentage preferences, they still would not be able to catch up with Marcos.
Knowing full well how voters react, Isko Moreno and Manny Pacquiao, or Leni Robredo for that matter, would not withdraw from the race. They will definitely at this point in time be convinced that Bongbong would be the next president. The result of all these developments is also the new connection of Leni’s candidacy, claimed by some as being supported by Joma Sison of the Communist Party of the Philippines, which is a destructive development on the part of the opposition.
Santa Banana, the BBM-Sara tandem had a grand rally in Cebu with with no less than the Cebu Governor, Cebu City Mayor and most of the Cebu mayors in attendance!
What we the people should be concerned now about is that when Bongbong assumes the presidency, who will comprise the members of his cabinet. I ask this because the success or failures of an administration largely depends on the kind of members in the president’s cabinet, they being his alter egos.
In this connection, I would like to suggest to the BBM-Sara tandem that the change of power not be overall. BBM and Sara should not forget two cabinet members of the Duterte administration whoi are needed in the continuity of the administration projects, especially to jumpstart the economic recovery. Finance Secretary Sonny Dominguez and National Economic Development Authority Director General Karl Chua could be very useful to the BBM-Sara administration. They could qualify for whatever position could be open to them as far as the BBM-Sara administration is concerned.
Personally, I would like to know who would be Bongbong’s Press Secretary and Spokesman because a Press Secretary and Spokesman is vital for the president’s sake.
I had said when the candidates for President and Vice President were forming their own teams and tandems that when BBM and former Davao City Mayor Sara Duerte Carpio united that : “Tapos na ang boksing” ( The game is over).
As of today, I would like to repeat what I have been saying, that it would be impossible or a major miracle for Vice President Leni Robredo to catch up with the lead of Bongbong Marcos and also the other VP candidates to catch up with Sara. At this point in time, there is no need for an official endorsement from President Duterte for Bongbong Marcos and even for his daughter Sara. As the common man would say, Bongbong and Sara could now sleep at night till Election Day.

While the nation is now concerned about the coming Election Day on May 9, two weeks from now, we should also be concerned about reports that COVID cases will surge. In fact, this is expected by the Department of Health and health experts, not only because of the easing of the safety protocols and restrictions, but because of all the sorties and rallies in connection with the May 9 elections, which have given way to the lack of social distancing .
Yes, come Election day, all eyes will focus on the results of the elections nationwide, But we should not forget the more important concern which is the surge of COVID-19 nationwide, which affects everyone.
For those victorious in the elections, they should not also forget that when it comes to the well-being of people, health comes first. It’s for this reason why we should all be concerned about the unseen enemy, Covid-19 and all its ramifications. Thus, it would do well for President Duterte to remind the people that when Election Day is over, there is still something that the nation should be concerned about, the COVID-19 pandemic.
